Ceramic sculpture of a Zipper Head. Curious of the left and right brains and their functions I was inspired to create this larger than life size self portrait with my head zipped open exposing the heart felt right brain and logical left brain. The left brain controls the right side of the body and vice versa. The look of angst of the right side of the face in this sculpture is in relation to what life would be like if we tried to experience it all with logic. Incidently this sculpture was featured on the Front Cover of the Santa Cruz Good Times in 2008.

Mayan Sphere for Burning Man 2007. This sphere was constructed entirely of plywood and held together with wood screws. Inspiration started with a sphere that would have foot and hand holds for someone to be inside in the postion of Leonardo's Vitruvian Man. With budget, time and design constraints all on the short side, the sculpture evolved into what I believe to be the first free roaming sculpture at Burning Man whoose destiny and whereabouts was soley determined by the collective and only the collective that chose or happened to participate. The sphere was released the same year that the collective or individual chose to burn the man early. The Mayan Sphere was enjoyed by a few and it's destiny only known to who? Not me, she was gone in less than 24 hours.
Ceramic sculpture of a rattlesnake. This was inspired by a Shamanic circle at Harbin Hotsprings in Middletown California where I happened to be laying in the direction of the snake spirit. I began this consuming sculpture immediately afterwards

How big is your smile when eating french fries? A personal foray into foods and how our bodies process them along with fasting and cleansing inspired me to create Seed to Plaque. Yes a sculpture of our large intestine, our colon in other words. This particular colon follows the life of a potato seed. From seed, to planting, to sowing, to harvesting, to slicing, to deep frying, to the beloved french fry, to the pleasure of eating french fries to ... uh-oh, to indigestion, clogged arteries, to heart burn, to obesity, to do you really want to know about mucoid plaque?

What do you get with a sheet of steel, a couple 2x4's, some scrap plywood, and one bowling ball? Pod Bowl. This sculpture was material inspired, taking the materials and creating. The 2x4's and plywood were glued up into cubes and then turned on the lathe to the same dims as the bowling bowl. After making a prototype with cardboard, the steel forms where cut, shaped and weleded to create the connector for the three spheres. And there you have the Pod Bowl.
